CHASP Institute

Across Africa, social protection systems are at a critical crossroads. Communities continue to face escalating shocks from climate change, humanitarian crises, economic volatility, and persistent poverty. However, a significant shortage of skilled professionals equipped to design, manage, and innovate resilient and inclusive social protection programs remains a major challenge. CHASP Institute was established to bridge this gap.

Launched as a new flagship initiative of CHASP Advisory, the Institute equips policymakers, practitioners, and development actors with practical, high-quality skills that blend global best practices with deep African realities. Our mission is to equip learners with practical skills in social programs as a means to contribute to the global reduction of poverty.

What sets CHASP Institute apart is our strong focus on relevance, excellence, and immediate application. Drawing from CHASP Advisory’s extensive on-the-ground experience and successful models such as Kenya’s KSEIP, we deliver immersive and experiential learning through simulations, real-life case studies, group problem-solving, and peer exchange. Participants gain actionable frameworks and tools they can apply directly in their work, supported by rigorous assessments and a three-month post-training follow-up to track real-world impact. The Institute also fosters strong professional networks while addressing inclusivity, gender responsiveness, and digital innovation.

CHASP Institute serves mid-to-senior level professionals including government policymakers and program managers at national and sub-national levels, multilateral and humanitarian partners, NGOs, community-based organizations, technical experts, consultants, and researchers.

The Institute offers an annual series of intensive five-day in-person modules held in strategic African locations, with hybrid options being progressively introduced. These courses cover critical and emerging areas such as shock-responsive social protection, humanitarian linkages, digitalization and governance, and economic inclusion for resilient livelihoods. Modules can be taken individually or as a progressive series.

CHASP Institute is more than just training, it is a platform for developing confident leaders who will build stronger, fairer, and more sustainable social protection systems across Africa and beyond. We invite you to secure your place in our 2026 Capacity Building Course Series and join this exciting new initiative.
