Omondi Otieno
Omondi is responsible for leading CHASP Advisory’s global strategy. He dedicates his time to industry innovation and establishing new business lines under the CHASP Advisory group.
He is a Social Protection specialist with over 15 years’ experience in managing diverse Public Health, Social Protection and Livelihood Programs in Rural and Humanitarian environments of the Horn of Africa. He has a deep practical understanding of the policy space in the sectors of health and social policy within most countries in Sub-saharan Africa and is known to be a thought leader on Social Protection, and on Healthcare Systems – areas in which he has extensively published reviewed articles, research papers, and implementation guidelines and tools. He continues to actively engage in generating knowledge that shapes development discourse in the region.
Prior to founding CHASP Advisory, Omondi worked for various non-profits in the Horn of Africa region, and independently consulted for various organizations including, Unicef, WFP, Oxfam, Save the Children, Action Against Hunger, Hivos,International Rescue Committee, Glaxosmithkline, Medecins du Monde, Cardno East Africa, and the Danish Refugee Council, amongst many others. He also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at the College of Liberal Arts of De La Salle University (Phillipines).
He holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies (Public Health) from Makerere University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Organizational Development from Henrich Heine University – Germany, and a Master of Public Health (Health Systems and Informatics) from the University of Western Cape – South Africa. He also recently completed a PhD in Development Economics from Makerere University.

Stephen Obunga is a seasoned Finance and Program Management professional with over a decade of experience leading financial operations, budgeting and donor compliance across complex, multi-country development portfolios. He has worked with leading international organizations including Amnesty International Kenya, CIMMYT, Precision Development, AATF, DAI Global LLC, CIP and ActionAid International, where he has consistently strengthened financial governance, improved compliance systems and enhanced decision-making through data-driven financial analysis.
Stephen’s expertise spans multi-donor financial management, IFRS compliance, ERP systems optimization and strategic financial planning for sustainability. He has successfully overseen budgets exceeding USD 250 million, introduced forecasting and liquidity models that improved financial predictability and spearheaded governance reforms that reinforced accountability and donor confidence.
As part of the Senior Management Team at CHASP Advisory, Stephen leads the organization’s financial strategy, strengthen internal controls, enhance financial reporting systems and building robust budgeting and risk management frameworks. His focuses on driving financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance excellence, positioning CHASP Advisory for growth and long-term institutional resilience.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and MBA (Finance) holder from USIU-Africa, Stephen brings a strong blend of analytical insight, strategic foresight and leadership in financial stewardship. He is passionate about building transparent, efficient financial systems that enable organizations to achieve impact sustainably.

Omole Opinya is a Development and Humanitarian Programming Specialist with two decades of experience. He’s a champion for social justice, focused on social protection, peace-building, and human rights. Omole’s expertise extends beyond programme strategy designs, technical guidance, and monitoring and evaluation. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Political Science. Omole is the Head of Practice at CHASP Advisory.

Leah Mugo who is CHASP Advisory’s Human Resources Specialist is a professional with over 15 years of experience in People Management and Administration. With Business Administration and Management qualifications from Strathmore University; Leah has a strong foundation and practical experience, ensuring effective and strategic human resource management.
Leah is dedicated to fostering a positive and productive work environment, adept at coordinating HR operations, developing policies, and implementing best practices that enhance organizational performance and ensure that the HR functions align with the overall objectives and mission of the organization.
Her passion for people is evident in her commitment to supporting staff development, promoting staff well-being and relations, and driving initiatives that cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. She believes in growing organizations with purpose, while intentionally nurturing the culture which makes her an invaluable asset to our organization and to the humanitarian sector.

Derick is an economist with experience in the design, management, and implementation of social protection programs. He is well-versed in research, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, policy development, disability programming, and implementation of livelihood programs across diverse settings. He is the Business Development lead at CHASP and supports field programs.
He is passionate about humanitarian development and sustainable development goals and has been involved with various organizations that champion the SDG agenda, like AIESEC and ICY Africa, in pursuit of this. Before joining CHASP, Derick worked at Africa 118 and Sony Sugar Company.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Maasai Mara University, Kenya.

Esther Sarah
Esther Sarah is a Communication Specialist passionate about the transformative power of communication and its potential to strengthen organizations by aligning messaging with strategic goals, inspire change through compelling storytelling and advocacy, and build connections by promoting meaningful engagement with audiences, partners, and key stakeholders.
She leads communication efforts across CHASP Advisory’s operations in Uganda, Rwanda, and Somalia, where she develops and implements comprehensive strategies to amplify the organization’s impact. She provides strategic communication counsel, manages the creation and dissemination of high-quality content, oversees media outreach efforts, and coordinates events to strengthen CHASP Advisory’s presence and influence.
With over five years of experience in communication, Esther possesses expertise in Digital Marketing, including SEO, Social Media Management, and Campaign Management. This allows her to leverage digital channels to amplify organizational messaging and engage target audiences. Esther holds a degree in Communication, complemented by certifications in Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence.

Joyce Sirengo
Joyce Sirengo is a dedicated humanitarian and development specialist with over six years of experience in managing humanitarian programs. She has expertise in program design, emergency response, refugee protection, and addressing gender-based violence and mental health challenges. Currently, as a Practice Associate at CHASP Advisory, she provides support to program teams, taking the lead in data collection, field operations, and stakeholder engagement to enhance program impact.
Previously, she held leadership roles where she managed protection programs and emergency responses while ensuring donor compliance. With a Master’s in International Conflict Management and a Bachelor’s in Gender and Development Studies, Joyce is committed to strengthening community resilience and advocating for vulnerable populations.

Joram Oruko is currently a Practice Manager at CHASP based in Nairobi, Kenya. Since joining, he has been responsible for working arm in arm with the County Registration Coordinators to execute and achieve clearly set out beneficiaries registration goals and objectives.
He also has a background in Real Estate and Property Management and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the same. He has since developed a profound interest in the workings of humanitarian policies championing sustainable social and economic development.

Abdullahi is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) specialist and researcher with over eight years of experience supporting humanitarian and development programs in arid and fragile contexts. He brings strong expertise in social protection, economic inclusion, health, nutrition, and livelihoods programming, with a focus on evidence-based decision-making.
Abdullahi has collaborated with organisations such as Save the Children International and CHASP Advisory, contributing to initiatives like KUZA Jamii and the Enhanced Single Registry programs. He holds an MBA in Project Management and Planning and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics, and is highly skilled in mobile data collection and analysis.

Judith Mwanake is an experienced Environmental Safeguards Expert with over a decade of experience specializing in Environment, Health, Safety, and Community Development. A registered Associate Expert with the Environment Institute of Kenya, Judith’s expertise extends to Community Capacity Building, Project Planning, and Environmental Impact Assessments. She is also a World Bank-trained Trainer of Trainers in Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and has received Mine Safety training from Base Titanium Ltd. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Environmental Community Development, Judith combines her extensive knowledge with core strengths in teamwork, planning, effective communication, creativity, and technological awareness. Her work on high-impact projects underscores her dedication to advancing sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Judith is the County coordinator for CHASP Advisory in Tana River County.

Bishar Maash Saman
Bishar Maash Saman is a Public Health and Nutrition Specialist with over 13 years of experience managing humanitarian and development projects in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties.
He is skilled in designing and coordinating Health, Nutrition, Food Security and livelihoods, WASH, and Emergency Response programs. Bishar holds a bachelor’s degree in Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics and is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health.
He has led cross-cultural teams, managed budgets, and implemented projects for INGOS funded by the EU, UNHCR, UNICEF, USAID, DFID, AICS, and FCDO. Bishar is committed to eliminating malnutrition and poverty, with expertise in advocacy, policy analysis, nutrition and health system strengthening, and capacity building. He currently serves as CHASP Advisory’s County Coordinator in Wajir.

Brian Kipchirchir Komen
Brian Kipchirchir Komen is a dedicated social worker with 5 years of experience in humanitarian, community, and social development. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work. Komen has expertise in social protection with a passion for child protection programming, refugee and asylum seeker advocacy, and human rights.
He is a faculty member at Turkana University in the Department of Arts and Social Work, as well as a member of the Kenya National Association of Social Workers (KNASW).
Komen is the County Coordinator for CHASP Advisory under the Kuza Jamii Program in Turkana County.

Charles Ford
Charles is a seasoned Social Protection and Child Policy expert with over eight years of progressive experience in humanitarian and development contexts in Kenya. He previously served as a Child Protection and Social Protection Officer with UNICEF Kenya, supporting national and county-level programs across 11 ASAL counties. His contributions include initiatives such as Multipurpose Cash Transfers, KSEIP I, and shock-responsive systems, including piloting Anticipatory Action frameworks.
He has coordinated county-level technical implementation with government departments and supported programs like NICHE and the National Positive Parenting Programme. Additionally, he strengthened county systems by developing social protection and public finance policies aligned with national priorities.
Charles currently serves as the County Coordinator for Samburu County at CHASP Advisory, where he leverages his policy, systems, and field experience to support strategic programming, government engagement, and institutional strengthening aimed at improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanitarian Operations from Oxford Brookes University, a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Kenyatta University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Southeastern Kenya University. With extensive hands-on field experience in ASAL and refugee settings, he has coordinated programs across Child Protection, Social Protection, Education, Livelihoods, and Reproductive Health sectors.
